We had an over-night stop in Pamukkale with the afternoon to look around the lime terraces with hot pools and the ancient ruins of Hierapilis (a Roman city). Unfortunately by the time we headed up to the plateau the weather turned bad and big grey rain clouds rolled in. Because of the this Jeff and I didn't have much of a look around the ruins instead we opted to give our feet a quick dip in the pools before heading back to our accomodation. Mum and dad however had a more thorough look around the city ruins and got saturated on the way back. The photos don't do the place justice as the terraces were amazing. It made us think that maybe this is what the pink and white terraces in NZ used to look like.
