Bursa

We had an overnight stay in Bursa, once part of the Silk road. We had the opportunity to visit the local Whirling Dervish Lodge and watch an evening of whirling. We happened to be there on the night that they celebrate Mohammad receiving the Koran. This meant an all nighter of worship music and whirling, with people tag-teaming throughout the night. It was interesting to learn about their religion and see genuine whirling rather than a tourist show.
