We met our Aussie friends Jo and Jase in Bordeaux - it was great to see them again, we had not seen them since leaving the Isle of Man in February. We had a great time with them visiting the surrounding wineries and Chateaux. We even stayed in a Chateau, which was up to Jó's very high expectations. We sampled more high quality red wine in 4 days than the last few years efforts. We even started to look as if we knew what we were on about after sniffing, inspecting and tasting our way around St Emillion and Pamerol.
After the wine region we drove - that's right drove - on the wrong side of the road. Tough to begin with especially having the fat side of the car on the right. We explored some coastal villages and found europes biggest sand dune and best sea food. Oysters were great, as were the creps and other treats. We were sad to put Jo and Jase on the plane back to the Isle of Man, we´d had a great time.
We felt a bit more confident about driving on the right after our time with J&J so hired a car ourselves and went castle hunting. Found some beauties.
Lynda has joined us for the next 2 weeks of our trip - from Bordeaux through the middle of Spain and back into the south of France. So far so good!!!
It's easy when you know how!!!!!!!
